Style Encore Haul

I have made 2 trips to Style Encore in the past couple of weeks. If you don’t know what Style Encore is, is it is a store in Centerville, Ohio that is a second hand clothing store. They don’t take junior brand names, so it is geared toward working women instead of teens. You can find name brand clothes like Anne Taylor, J. Crew, etc for really cheap. I barely buy new anymore. I thought I would share some of my “maternity” finds.

This is just a flowy floral top I bought. I thought it would look nice for work with a pair for skinny khaki pants or a pair or skinny blue pants and flats.

I am all about comfort during pregnancy and this just a striped green shirt to wear with jeans and flats. I will probably pair it with a silver chain or some kind of accessory.

Another casual shirt. It is a plaid short sleeved shirt to wear with jeans.

I don’t have a whole lot of white jewelry, but I thought these would be cute with white pants and some kind of top with it. I had to get these because 1. They were $5 and 2. I like statement necklaces/ earrings .

These are kind of corny, but I thought they would be cute for Mother’s Day and I am so blessed to be a mom, so why not??

I will jump at the chance to get anything with crosses or inspirational sayings on it, so I found this kind of “rustic” looking bracelet and thought I would get it.

As you can probably tell, I like stripes… it probably isn’t a good thing since they make me look bigger in the chest and belly right now, but I am pregnant and I have an excuse. Black and white can be paired with several different colored pants and goes well dressed up or down. I love versatile clothing, especially since I won’t be wearing it long.

This is a dress that is actually from Forever 21. I am surprised they had it in Style Encore and I am surprised it was a loose fit for a large, since they are a junior clothing store. It is short sleeved, so I plan to wear it when it gets warmer.

For those of you who are first time moms- when you pack for the hospital, don’t pack tight fitting clothes, jeans, etc. You will want to be as comfortable as possible in the hospital so pack pjs and sweats for your stay. If you want to look “cute” when you leave the hospital, pack a cute flowy dress or maxi. That way no matter what kind of birth you have (c- section or natural) you will be comfortable and it won’t rub your stitches or lady parts 🙂

Ok, back to the clothes…

I bought this scarf with a specific use for it. I have a chambray shirt and dress and I thought it would be cute with either, which leads me to my last picture….

The shirt and pants aren’t new, but I bought them at Style Encore or Clothes Mentor awhile back and I thought this would make a good outfit. Sorry about the shirt. It is clean, but it will be ironed when I wear it next. I am taking after my mom- I cant go out of the house with wrinkled clothes!

Do any of you shop second hand? If so, where???

Wal Mart Beauty Spring Box

*Repost from March 6

I havent been subscribing to my Ipsy or FabFitFun boxes because FFF is a little expensive and Ipsy keeps sending me the same samples. One box I have kept because it is cheap is the Wal Mart Box. I have been trying to not spend as much on beauty products and I feel that trying drug store brands will help save some money. I have found some good drug store beauty products that work just as well as the expensive stuff.

Anyway, I got my spring box today, so I will post what I got.

I usually use Secret Clinical Strength because I need a strong deodorant (thanks to my hormones changing after Eli), but I may try this, especially if it is cheaper.

img_2151

After I wash my face, I plan on trying this. I have been into trying different masks, moisturizers, and scrubs for my face. My mom always taught me to take care of my skin so I dont look like a leather suitcase when I get old.

img_2150

I am all about softening for the face/body and shine for hair, so I will definitely be trying this.

I already have the nighttime relief in the tub and am soaking as we speak. I feel really relaxed, but it could be because I am taking a nice bath and listening to some relaxing music too. Let’s see how I sleep tonight.

I am a tried and true men’s razor user just because they get closer and I feel they do a better job, but I may keep this as a back up in case I run out of razors

I have become a fan of Aveeno lately. I have used the baby lotion and wash for Eli since he was born, and I have been using the brightening cleanser and the moisturizer for a few months. For a drug store brand, it is pretty good. I like the lotion for myself too, so I will be using this.

Wal Mart sends good samples and usually send a few full size samples. If you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on subscription boxes, the Wal Mart Box is the way to go

Bath Bomb Review

I LOVE bath bombs, but they can get expensive. My husband found Bodycology bath bombs at Kohl’s a few months ago. They are cheap- $5 for 8 and they smell pretty good. When I used them, my skin felt pretty smooth. I was impressed

This is the scent I usually use. They are fairly decent sized too. It did take them awhile to fizz, so that was something that I wish was better.

Yesterday I was in Target and was looking in the beauty/makeup section and found another brand of bath bombs. They are from the brand Me! Bath.

I saw that they were vegan and animal cruelty free. I like trying to find things that are as “clean” as possible because I use enough products that aren’t good.

I just finished using one in my bath. I got the pomegranate scent and noticed they were a little smaller than the Bodycology brand, but the scent was a lot stronger, which was good for when I sat in the bath. The bath smelled really nice, but the true test was does it fizz and does it leave my skin smooth?? It fizzed and dissolved within seconds and my skin feels like I just put lotion on. They come in a bag of 6 and are $8-10, but they are totally worth it for the lower end of bath bombs. Some bath bombs can be that much for one, so $8-10 is not too bad. Overall, I am more impressed with the Me! Bath brand. It was a little more expensive, but my skin is a lot more smooth and the smell was stronger and smelled better. I want to try other scents of this brand to see how I like it
