Changes

Over the years I have tried so many different diets and tried to lose weight. After I had Eli I had joined the gym and was able to lose weight and even go down from a size 6 to a size 4. That may not be a big deal, but I can’t remember the last time I was a size 4. I got pregnant with Micah and even though I didnt get quite as big with him, I am still trying to get those extra pounds off and get back in those 4 jeans.

I have been reading more and am able to get trough a book in a day or two, but for the past few days, I have gotten in to the book, Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food by Lysa TerKeurst. I have been underlining and taking notes in the book and then writing down my answers to her reflection questions at the end of each chapter. It is taking longer, but I am so inspired to make changes in my life. No program with snacks and shakes or points will help me lose the weight. It has to be a lifestyle change that doesn’t cost $400 a month. That is how I lost the weight before, and that is how I will lose it again.

God not only gave us good food, he wants us to move our bodies too. That is one area I have struggled in since I am not going to the gym. I enjoyed being with other women and working out in my classes. It brought a sense of empowerment and accomplishment. I loved seeing the different sizes and how no one judged each other. It was great. Now that I am on my own, I am having to rely on my willpower and motivation and that is hard.

I am committed to making some changes and I need to stay focused and it will happen
